Westbourne Issues
Westbourne Ward faces a number of issues at the present time.
1. Parking - I am having a meeting shortly to discuss issues that being raised with me by residents now the parking scheme has been in place for some years.
2. King Alfred - the Council is undertaking a review of the building and will come forward with proposals.
3. Planning - pressure to redevelop existing buildings continues with the demand from developers for more flats ever present.
4. Sackville Hotel - the demolition of this traditional hotel has led to concerns about what kind of building will replace it.
5. Portland Road - concerns about a major food retailer coming into the area have led to a community campaign on this issue.
