Road Traffic accident in London Road

Thankyou to those who have reported to me the road traffic accident this morning at the junction of Peacock Lane with London Road. Ken and I were in London Road shortly following the accident and will be asking for a full report into the circumstances of this unfortunate incident. I know that there have been several accidents since the introduction of the dedicated bus and taxi lane which was introduced when the work on the A23 sustainable corridor was carried out. I have also been involved in two near misses whilst attempting to turn left into The Approach and also into Harrington Road and residents have also told usof many more close shaves in the section of road between Peacock Lane and Preston Drove. Withdean Ward Councillors continue to press for alterations to the existing layout and so would be grateful to know of any incidents that residents may witness which will help us compile as much evidence as possible to support our call for a change to the current layout.
