Ward Advice Surgeries - March 07
Denise and I will be holding our regular two Westbourne Ward surgeries this month.
The first is on the 3rd March (this coming Saturday) at 10am for 1 hour at the TalkShop on Tamworth Road.
The second is on the 14th March (the second Wednesday) from 5pm until 6.30pm at Hove Museum.
No appointments are necessary.
King Alfred
The King Alfred planning application is going to be considered at a special meeting of the Planning Applications sub-committee on the 23rd March. If you wish to make any representations regarding this matter then please write to Luke Perkins, Planning Department, Brighton and Hove City Council, Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove.
Representations have to be received by the 21st March.
Westbourne Hospital Planning Application
The Westbourne Hospital planning application is likely to be considered by the Council's Planning Application sub-Committee on the 4th April.
If you wish to contact me about this or any other issue, please email on:
Westbourne Ward Advice Surgery
The next Westbourne Ward advice surgery will take place tomorrow, 14th March, at Hove Museum from 5pm until 6.30pm. No appointment is necessary.
If you are not able to attend the surgery but wish to contact me, please do so by emailing me at:
Battling graffiti
I have been asked by the manager of the Talkshop on Tamworth Road (where, in fact, Denise and I hold our Poets Corner Surgery) to try to get the graffiti cleared from the wall of Stoneham Park (the Talkshop is located on the north east corner of the park) and from the walls of the building itself.
I have, in consultation with my Ward colleague, Denise Cobb and my Wish Ward colleagues, Councillors Garry Peltzer Dunn and Ted Kemble, raised this matter and I am hopeful that the Council, working with the Talk shop, will be able to tackle this problem.
Mortimer Road
I have written to CityClean asking if a 'deep clean' of Mortimer Road can be undertaken once gas works in the road have been completed. The problems of mud in the road were drawn to my attention recently at a Ward advice surgery. I was told of residents inadvertantly walking the mud into their homes and asked if some action could be taken.
