This web site!

Working to create this web site has been on my mind for some time. Council staff have been great in encouraging myself, and colleagues, in getting content together but, even though I have huge faith in the ability of technology to improve everyone's life, this process has been a little daunting!

To create this blog and the other pages you can see on the site, has needed me to train on the Council's web authoring tool. Like many things with computers, it's ok using it when somebody is there to ask! I've yet to edit anything under my own steam!

I decided that if I was going to do this piece of work I would need to set aside some specific time to deal with the matter. My colleagues, Ann and Ken Norman joined me and we had the offer of using the Council's IT training suite. This was a boon (and good fun). We came in this morning and with the patient help of Amanda, who is a Council IT Trainer, we got going with the web authoring tool and created the pages you can see.

As I mentioned above, I am really interested in technology and the positive impact it can have.
