Denise Cobb
I was elected in 1999 and 2001.
I was born in Brighton but have also lived in London and the United States; I have 2 adult sons, a granddaughter and 3 grandsons. I have a good sense of humour and a cheeful personality. I enjoy meeting and helping people.
I am currently self-employed as a Massage, Sport massage and Beauty Therapist. I also currently teach Swimming and Acquatic Exercise. I am a qualified Swimming, Fitness and Gym Instructor. Previous employment has involved coaching a variety of sporting, recreational and leisure activities, including leisure management, and work with young adults who had profound multiple learning difficulties and severe physical disabilities. I also have experience of working with the unemployed, training and helping them find voluntary and paid work. I have been employed in the local hospitals as a Theatre Sterile Services Supervisor and as a qualified Phlebotomist. Most recently, I was employed in the public sector.
In a voluntary capacity, I have been an Instructor for the American Red Cross, helped to raise funds for children's sport, life guarded for youth group trips and taught fun exercise sessions for all ages.
I have little time for leisure activities, but I enjoy exercise, dance, swimming, cooking, being creative and travelling.
